FARMlytics
FARMlytics is an IoT based system built for measuring moisture levels in the soil. The soil moisture sensors are installed in the farms to gauge the percentage of water. This system is more efficient in determining when and how much water needs to be applied to maintain the root health at the optimum level. FARMlytics will revolutionize farming and agriculture in India. Using this device, farmers can collect meaningful data and optimize water usage as per the requirement of crops. In the case of limited water resources, farmers can limit watering to critical phases of crop cycle without affecting the overall yield.
How it works?
FARMlytics system introduced the concept of Big Data Analytics into modern farming. Important parameters like – air temperature, moist level in the soil, humidity, etc are collected with the help of IoT sensor and ingested into Splunk dashboard for data analysis. The key components of FARMlytics are –
IoT Sensor
The IoT sensor captures air temperature, soil moisture, humidity, etc. that help farmers to detect inconsistencies in the soil and reduce operational challenges.
Splunk Software
The data collected from the sensor is ingested into the Splunk dashboard for analysis. Further, this data shared with the stakeholders through the cloud or local server.
Mobile App
The stakeholders can access the data via the mobile app installed on their smartphone. The user-friendly app represents the data in a simple and clear format.
